Jio is largely basking on the glory of its stellar performance in the telecom segment. It has also extended its success in the feature phone market, with its JioPhone, where it is now the market leader. Not it looks to extend its lead and improve penetration with the introduction of the JioPhone 2, which is an upgrade on the original. The device is priced at just Rs. 2,999 and can be purchased from either MyJio Apps or Jio.com. The device features a qwerty keypad and a four-way navigation button.
But most importantly, the device comes preloaded with the most popular apps such as Facebook, YouTube and WhatsApp. Currently, users of JioPhone need to download these apps from the store in KaiOS. Moreover, the phones didn’t have native support for these apps, as the features were limited. Now with the inclusion of these apps and exclusive offers, Jio is all set to expand its feature phone market in the country in the upcoming months.
